Course Overview

Many individuals rely on wheelchairs for mobility due to physical limitations, chronic illness or injury. Caregivers play a critical role in ensuring safe mobility while promoting dignity, independence and injury prevention. Improper wheelchair assistance can result in falls, caregiver injuries and loss of trust. This in-service provides caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to safely assist individuals who use wheelchairs.
